The New Assistive IT
Assistive IT is Concept Northern’s online shop and DSA quoting system for assistive-technology products and training. Our aim was to make the process for quoting, ordering and delivering assistive technology to students simpler and hassle-free. Based on overwhelmingly positive assessor feedback, we achieved our goal.
With this in mind, we’re delighted to announce a new-look Assistive IT full of improved features which create an even better user experience for assessor and student alike.
The new site retains all the great features which are already popular with assessors, such as the quote manager, quicklists, quote templates and packages. The quote builder has been improved and assessors can now add student details directly to a quote. The student then automatically receives an email with information on what steps to take next, once an award letter is received. Old quotes, such as those from a previous academic year, can now be archived resulting in a more organised workspace for assessors with less unnecessary information onscreen.
In addition, assessors can compare laptops in more detail to ensure students get the correct model for their needs. Specifications including operating system, processor type, RAM, disk storage size, screen size and weight can be compared side-by-side.
The customer account area has also been refreshed. There is a dedicated area for storing software licence details ensuring that these are never lost and are easy to locate when required. Training information, including appointment time, date and venue is listed here too ensuring that a student always knows when a session is due to take place. Students can add appointment details to their calendars automatically by clicking a handy “Add to Calendar” button and find information relating to making changes to the appointment if required. There’s also a dedicated area for storing documents relating to the student’s order.
The site has a new, fresh layout which offers a high degree of user-friendliness. It’s more responsive than before ensuring that it’s always displayed in an optimal format no matter how it is accessed, whether by PC or smartphone. That responsiveness extends to quote building too, meaning that assessors can even complete quotes on a tablet. Accessibility has also been prioritised and the site continues to feature BrowseAloud – Texthelp’s text-to-speech tool for web sites.
The new-look Assistive IT is the evolution of a service that already worked well. We’ve simply made it even better. It’s in great shape to serve assessors and students involved in the DSA quoting process for years to come.
